Tong Cave
# Tong Cave – Koh Phi Phi Dive Site
Dive Conditions
Tong Cave is an exceptional dive site located off Koh Phi Phi in Krabi’s Andaman Sea. This intermediate to advanced dive features a spectacular underwater cavern system with natural light filtering through narrow openings, creating an ethereal atmosphere. Divers descend to depths of 12-25 meters to explore intricate rock formations and tunnel passages carved into the limestone reef.
The site hosts abundant marine life including groupers, snappers, jacks, and barracuda that patrol the open water. Smaller reef fish, fusiliers, and occasional reef sharks add to the vibrant ecosystem. Macro enthusiasts appreciate nudibranchs, crustaceans, and colorful coral polyps adorning the cave walls.
The cavern passages require careful navigation and good buoyancy control, making it suitable for experienced divers. Visibility typically ranges from 10-20 meters depending on seasonal conditions. The unique geological formations and concentrated marine activity make Tong Cave one of Thailand’s most memorable cavern dives, best visited during the dry season from November to April.
