Dive Conditions
Sairee Reef is a popular dive site located off Sairee Beach on Koh Tao in Thailand’s Gulf of Thailand. This accessible reef system features a gently sloping sandy bottom with scattered coral formations and rocky outcrops, making it ideal for divers of all experience levels.
Divers typically explore depths ranging from 5 to 25 meters, with excellent visibility during calm conditions. The reef supports diverse marine life including colorful tropical fish, angelfish, groupers, fusiliers, and reef sharks. Octopus, moray eels, and sea turtles are occasionally spotted among the corals.
The site’s shallow sections and moderate currents make it suitable for beginners and open water certification dives, while deeper areas offer interest for experienced divers. Sairee Reef’s vibrant ecosystem and proximity to Sairee Beach make it one of Koh Tao’s most frequently dived locations.
The best diving conditions occur during the dry season from February to October, when visibility and weather are most favorable. This reef remains an excellent choice for experiencing the rich biodiversity of the Gulf of Thailand.
