Dive Conditions
North Pinnacle near Racha Noi Island is an advanced dive site offering dramatic underwater geology and abundant marine life in Thailand’s Andaman Sea. This pinnacle rises from depths exceeding 40 meters, with the summit reaching approximately 5-12 meters depth, making it suitable for experienced divers only.
Divers encounter impressive rock formations covered in soft corals, sea fans, and colorful anemones. The site showcases healthy hard coral colonies and intricate coral gardens along the pinnacle’s walls. Strong currents are typical, attracting schools of trevally, barracuda, and fusiliers. Larger pelagics including sharks and rays are frequently spotted.
Marine life diversity is exceptional, featuring groupers, snappers, sweetlips, and occasional encounters with manta rays and reef sharks. The site’s exposed location in the Strait of Malacca means unpredictable weather and powerful currents require excellent buoyancy control and navigation skills.
