Dive Conditions
Hin Kong is a premier dive destination located off Koh Surin in Phang Nga Province, Thailand, in the Andaman Sea. This site features dramatic granite rock formations and underwater boulders creating an exciting topography for exploration.
Divers typically encounter depths ranging from 12 to 40 meters, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers. The site’s rocky structure provides excellent habitat for diverse marine life, including colorful reef fish, groupers, snappers, and occasional pelagic species such as trevally and barracuda.
The rocky pinnacles are often covered with soft corals and sea fans, creating vibrant underwater scenery. Macro photography enthusiasts will appreciate the abundance of smaller creatures, including nudibranchs and crustaceans.
Visibility typically ranges from 10 to 25 meters, depending on seasonal conditions. The site experiences moderate to strong currents, requiring good buoyancy control and diving experience. Hin Kong is best visited during the dry season (November to April) when sea conditions are most favorable for diving in this region of the Andaman Sea.
