Dive Conditions
Koh Chi, located off Koh Surin in Phang Nga’s Andaman Sea, is an excellent dive destination suitable for intermediate divers. This site features dramatic underwater topography with rocky outcrops and coral-covered boulders descending to depths of 12-40 meters, making it accessible for various skill levels.
Divers encounter vibrant hard and soft corals adorning the reef structure, creating a colorful underwater landscape. Marine life is abundant, including reef fish schools, groupers, snappers, sweetlips, and occasional reef sharks. Barracuda and trevally frequently patrol the area, while smaller species like nudibranchs and crustaceans populate the coral crevices.
The site experiences moderate currents, which enhance nutrient flow and attract larger pelagic species. Visibility typically ranges from 10-20 meters, depending on seasonal conditions. Koh Chi’s combination of pristine coral formations, diverse marine biodiversity, and manageable depths make it a popular choice for divers exploring Thailand’s Andaman Sea diving circuit.
