Tianyar is a compelling muck diving destination located on Bali’s northeastern coast in the Bali Sea. This black sand slope offers depths ranging from 5 to 40 meters, making it suitable for divers of all levels, though intermediate experience is recommended for deeper exploration.

The site is renowned for its exceptional macro marine life diversity. Divers encounter an abundance of critters including seahorses, frogfish, nudibranchs, gobies, and mantis shrimp camouflaged within the volcanic sand and rubble. Larger species such as groupers and snappers are also frequently spotted.

Tianyar’s unique environment features dramatic volcanic formations and healthy coral growth scattered across the bottom. The nutrient-rich waters attract prolific marine life, making every dive rewarding for keen-eyed observers.

This muck site operates year-round with relatively calm conditions in the dry season. Strong currents can occur during monsoons, requiring proper planning. Visibility typically ranges from 10-20 meters, ideal for spotting hidden creatures. Tianyar remains a favorite among underwater photographers seeking exceptional critter encounters.
