Explore one of Asia’s most accessible and iconic wreck dives at the USAT Liberty in Bali’s Bali Sea. This 120-meter American cargo ship, sunk in 1942, rests in remarkably shallow waters at just 5-12 meters depth, making it ideal for divers of all skill levels.

The wreck sits upright on a sandy bottom, allowing easy navigation through its corridors, cargo holds, and bridge. Divers encounter massive gun mounts, boilers, and other wartime artifacts preserved by the tropical environment. The structure teems with vibrant marine life, including schools of jackfish, fusiliers, groupers, and occasional sea turtles. Colorful coral formations coat the hull, creating a thriving artificial reef ecosystem.

The site’s shallow depth and proximity to Tulamben beach make it perfect for beginners and perfect for extended bottom time. Strong currents occasionally occur, but the wreck’s protective structure shields divers. This historically significant and visually stunning dive offers an unforgettable combination of military history and marine biodiversity in one remarkable location.
