Sunset Point is a premier dive site located off Gili Trawangan in Indonesia’s Gili Islands, situated in the Bali Sea. This intermediate-level dive offers depths ranging from 5 to 40 meters, making it suitable for certified divers with some experience.
The site features vibrant coral gardens, dramatic reef walls, and sandy slopes teeming with marine biodiversity. Divers encounter schools of trevally, snappers, and fusiliers, along with reef sharks, turtles, and occasional manta rays. Nudibranchs, ghostpipefishes, and various crustaceans inhabit the coral structures.
Strong currents are common at Sunset Point, particularly during peak seasons, requiring good buoyancy control and awareness. The site’s name derives from its westward-facing orientation, offering stunning underwater lighting conditions during afternoon dives.
Best visited during dry season months when visibility reaches 15-25 meters, Sunset Point rewards divers with exceptional coral health and consistent marine life encounters. It remains one of Gili Trawangan’s most popular and rewarding dive destinations.
