Christmas Point at Bangu Island in Thailand’s Similan Islands is a premier dive site featuring dramatic granite boulder formations and vibrant coral ecosystems. Located in the Andaman Sea, this site offers depths ranging from 5 to 40 meters, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
Divers encounter spectacular underwater scenery with large granite boulders creating natural swim-throughs and caverns. The site showcases healthy soft and hard coral gardens teeming with tropical fish species. Marine life encounters include groupers, snappers, jacks, sweetlips, and occasionally reef sharks. Macro photography enthusiasts appreciate the abundant nudibranchs and crustaceans inhabiting the rocky crevices.
The boulder formations create moderate currents, requiring good buoyancy control and experience. Visibility typically ranges from 15-25 meters, depending on seasonal conditions. Christmas Point is best visited during the dry season from November to May.
