Hin Rap
# Hin Rap Dive Site
Dive Conditions
Hin Rap, located off Koh Surin in Phang Nga, Thailand, is a scenic underwater pinnacle in the Andaman Sea. This moderate dive site features rocky outcrops and granite formations that create diverse marine habitats suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
Divers typically explore depths ranging from 12 to 30 meters, encountering vibrant coral-encrusted rocks and boulder formations. The site’s strong currents attract nutrient-rich waters, supporting abundant marine life including schools of barracuda, trevally, and snappers. Reef sharks, groupers, and occasionally manta rays are spotted around the rocky structures.
The site’s main highlight is its dramatic underwater topography, with passages and crevices between large boulders. Soft corals, sea fans, and anemones flourish on the rocks, creating colorful scenic landscapes. Fish life is particularly active due to the nutrient-driven currents.
Hin Rap is best dived during calm season months (November to April) when visibility exceeds 20 meters. The challenging current conditions and depth make it most suitable for experienced divers comfortable with drift diving and strong water movement.
