Dive Conditions
Hin Yippon is a popular rock pinnacle dive site located in the Gulf of Thailand near Surat Thani in Southern Thailand. This intermediate to advanced dive spot features distinctive granite rock formations rising from the seafloor, creating dramatic underwater scenery ideal for exploration and photography.
Divers typically descend to depths between 12-24 meters, navigating around the rocky structures and crevices. The site offers excellent visibility during optimal conditions, allowing visitors to observe vibrant coral growth and diverse marine ecosystems.
Marine life encounters include reef fish species, groupers, snappers, and occasional pelagic visitors. The rocky outcrops provide habitat for moray eels, lionfish, and various crustaceans. Macro photography opportunities abound with nudibranchs and smaller creatures inhabiting the reef.
Best suited for divers with some experience due to moderate currents and depth, Hin Yippon rewards visitors with stunning underwater formations and rich biodiversity characteristic of Thailand’s Gulf waters. The site remains accessible year-round, though conditions are optimal during the dry season from November to April.
