Dive Conditions
Sekartaji, located off Nusa Penida in Bali’s Lombok Strait, is a challenging drift dive renowned for its strong currents and exceptional marine biodiversity. This site features dramatic underwater topography with steep drop-offs and rocky formations descending to depths of 40+ meters, making it suitable for advanced divers only.
The site showcases impressive coral gardens, including vibrant soft corals and healthy hard coral formations that attract diverse marine life. Divers regularly encounter large pelagic species such as manta rays, reef sharks, tuna, and jacks in the strong currents. Smaller marine life includes colorful reef fish, nudibranchs, and occasional sea turtles.
Visibility typically ranges from 15-30 meters, depending on conditions and tidal flows. The powerful Lombok Strait currents create an exhilarating experience but require excellent buoyancy control and experience with drift diving. Sekartaji is best visited during the dry season (April-October) when conditions are more favorable. This premier dive destination offers thrilling encounters with Bali’s most impressive marine fauna.
