Pengah Kecil, located in Batupengah near Komodo in Indonesia’s Flores Sea, offers an exceptional diving experience for intermediate to advanced divers. This site features dramatic underwater topography with steep walls and rocky formations that create a visually stunning seascape.
Divers encounter vibrant coral gardens, particularly soft corals and sea fans, along the reef structures. The site is renowned for its abundant marine life, including large pelagic species such as reef sharks, trevally, and barracuda, especially during incoming currents. Smaller reef residents include nudibranchs, groupers, and schools of colorful reef fish.
Depth ranges from 12 to 40+ meters, with the most interesting features between 15-35 meters. Strong currents are common, making this site suitable for experienced divers comfortable with drift diving. Visibility typically ranges from 10-25 meters, depending on seasonal conditions.
