Dive Conditions
Gindang is a premier dive destination located at Nusa Segandong, Rinca, in Indonesia’s Komodo region. Situated in the Flores Sea within West Manggarai Regency, this site offers exceptional underwater experiences for divers of intermediate to advanced skill levels.
The dive features dramatic underwater topography with steep drop-offs and rocky formations that create dynamic currents typical of this region. Divers explore depths ranging from 15 to 40 meters, encountering vibrant coral gardens and rich marine biodiversity characteristic of the Komodo ecosystem.
Marine life sightings include trevally, groupers, snappers, fusiliers, and schooling mackerel. The site is known for encounters with reef sharks, manta rays, and occasionally larger pelagic species. Macro enthusiasts appreciate abundant nudibranches, crustaceans, and small reef fish.
Gindang’s current-rich environment demands good buoyancy control and diving experience. The site is best suited for intermediate to advanced divers comfortable with drift diving. Strong currents can be challenging but reward experienced divers with exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities and pristine coral encounters.
