Chumphon Pinnacle stands as a premier diving destination near Nang Yuan in Ko Phangan District, Thailand. This underwater seamount rises from depths exceeding 40 meters, featuring dramatic rock formations and vibrant coral-covered slopes.
Divers typically encounter depths ranging from 18 to 40 meters, making this site suitable for intermediate to advanced divers. The pinnacle’s steep walls provide stunning underwater topography with excellent visibility during optimal conditions.
Marine life thrives abundantly at Chumphon Pinnacle. Divers frequently spot large pelagic species including barracuda, trevally, and occasional reef sharks. The site also features dense populations of groupers, snappers, and lionfish among healthy coral gardens. Smaller creatures like nudibranchs and crustaceans inhabit the rocky crevices.
The Gulf of Thailand’s dynamic currents create exciting drift diving opportunities, though conditions can be challenging.
