Seraya Kecil Island, located in Sabolan Besar near Komodo in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara region, offers an exceptional diving experience in the Flores Sea. This site features dramatic underwater topography with steep drop-offs and rocky formations that create dynamic diving conditions.
Divers explore depths ranging from 12 to 40 meters, with moderate to advanced difficulty suitable for experienced divers. The site showcases vibrant coral gardens, including hard and soft corals that attract diverse marine life. Expect encounters with reef sharks, groupers, snappers, tuna, and various species of nudibranchs and crustaceans.
Strong currents are common, requiring proper buoyancy control and experience with drift diving. The rocky terrain provides excellent macro photography opportunities alongside larger pelagic species. Visibility typically ranges from 15 to 30 meters, though conditions vary seasonally.
