Batu Talen, located in Nusa Penida off Bali’s coast, is a challenging dive site in the Lombok Strait renowned for its strong currents and exceptional marine biodiversity. This exposed reef pinnacle drops to depths of 40 meters, making it suitable for advanced and experienced divers only.

Divers encounter dramatic underwater topography featuring steep walls and boulder formations covered in vibrant soft and hard corals. The nutrient-rich waters of the Bali Sea attract abundant pelagic species, including manta rays, eagle rays, and large schools of jacks and trevally. Reef sharks, barracuda, and groupers are frequently sighted patrolling the site.

The challenging conditions—powerful currents and surge—demand excellent buoyancy control and strong diving skills. Best dived during slack tide periods, Batu Talen rewards experienced divers with unforgettable encounters with Indonesian marine megafauna. The site’s pristine coral gardens and thriving fish populations make it a premier destination in the Lombok Strait for advanced recreational diving.
