Benoa Bay, located in Bali’s Badung Strait, offers accessible diving for all skill levels. This popular site features shallow to moderate depths of 5-20 meters, making it ideal for beginners and recreational divers.
The bay’s diverse marine ecosystem includes vibrant coral gardens, sea turtles, and colorful reef fish such as groupers, snappers, and fusiliers. Divers frequently encounter nudibranchs, crustaceans, and occasional rays gliding along sandy bottoms.
Visibility ranges from 5-15 meters, depending on seasonal conditions and tidal influences from the Bali Sea. The site is characterized by gentle currents and sloping reef structures that transition from coral formations to sandy areas.
Benoa Bay’s proximity to Bali’s coast and well-established dive infrastructure make it convenient for both tourists and local divers. Multiple dive operators service the area year-round. While not a technical dive destination, its abundant marine life, manageable depths, and favorable conditions make it an excellent choice for underwater photography and marine observation.
