Monkey Beach near Koh Phi Phi in Krabi offers an accessible diving experience in Thailand’s stunning Andaman Sea. Located in the Strait of Malacca region, this site features shallow waters ideal for beginners and intermediate divers, typically ranging from 5-15 meters depth.
The underwater landscape showcases vibrant coral gardens and rocky formations teeming with tropical marine life. Divers encounter colorful reef fish, including angelfish, parrotfish, and snappers, along with occasional sea turtles and rays. The area’s healthy coral ecosystem provides excellent opportunities for macro photography.
Named after the resident macaques inhabiting the nearby beach, Monkey Beach combines excellent surface attractions with rewarding underwater exploration. Visibility typically ranges from 10-20 meters, depending on seasonal conditions. The site’s gentle slope and manageable depth make it perfect for skill development while maintaining enough interest for experienced divers.
