Dive Conditions
Mushroom Rock is a distinctive dive site located off Phi Phi Lee Island in Koh Phi Phi, Krabi, Thailand. This intermediate-level dive offers depths ranging from 12 to 18 meters, making it suitable for certified divers with some experience.
The site features a unique rock formation resembling a mushroom, surrounded by vibrant coral gardens and rock outcrops. Divers encounter colorful soft corals, anemones, and healthy hard coral formations that create a visually stunning underwater landscape.
Marine life is abundant, including barracuda, fusiliers, batfish, and various reef fish species. Divers frequently spot sea turtles, snappers, and nudibranchs among the coral structures. The area’s rich biodiversity makes it ideal for photography and marine observation.
Currents can be moderate, requiring proper buoyancy control and awareness. Water visibility typically ranges from 15-25 meters, depending on seasonal conditions. Mushroom Rock is best visited during the dry season from November to April when sea conditions are optimal.
