Siam Bay, located off Racha Yai Island near Phuket in Thailand’s Andaman Sea, offers an exceptional diving experience for intermediate to advanced divers. This popular site features dramatic underwater topography with depths ranging from 12 to 40 meters, showcasing impressive rock formations and coral-covered boulders.
Divers exploring Siam Bay encounter vibrant marine life including groupers, snappers, trevally, and barracuda. The site is known for excellent visibility, typically 15-25 meters, particularly during the dry season. Colorful coral gardens attract schools of fusiliers and occasional reef sharks.
The bay’s varied terrain accommodates different skill levels, though strong currents can occur, requiring intermediate diving experience. The rocky landscape creates excellent natural habitats, making it ideal for underwater photography and marine life observation.
Best visited between November and April, Siam Bay provides memorable encounters with the Andaman Sea’s rich biodiversity. The site’s accessibility from Phuket and consistent marine activity make it a must-dive destination in Southern Thailand’s premier diving region.
