Dive Conditions
Torpedo Point is a premier dive site located at Rinca Island in Komodo National Park, Indonesia. This challenging reef dive features strong currents that create an exhilarating drift diving experience, suitable for intermediate to advanced divers. The site descends to depths of 40 meters (130 feet), with most activity occurring between 12-30 meters.
Divers encounter spectacular coral gardens, including table corals and vibrant soft coral formations alongside dramatic rocky outcrops. The nutrient-rich Sumba Strait currents attract abundant marine life, including schools of barracuda, trevally, and snappers. Encounters with reef sharks, manta rays, and occasionally bumphead parrotfish are common. Smaller creatures like nudibranches, ghost pipefish, and nudibranchs add to the biodiversity.
Visibility typically ranges from 10-25 meters, varying with seasonal currents and weather conditions. The strong water movement requires excellent buoyancy control and current awareness.
