Dive Conditions
Stonehenge is a distinctive dive site located off Miang Island in Thailand’s Similan Islands, situated in the Andaman Sea. This intermediate to advanced dive features impressive granite boulder formations resembling ancient stone structures, creating a dramatic underwater landscape at depths ranging from 12 to 30 meters.
Divers encounter massive granite blocks scattered across the seafloor, forming natural corridors and overhangs that create an otherworldly environment. The site offers excellent opportunities to observe diverse marine life including groupers, snappers, fusiliers, and occasional reef sharks patrolling the waters. Colorful soft corals and anemones populate the rocky formations, while smaller fish species shelter within the crevices.
Strong currents are common at this site, making it suitable for experienced divers comfortable with drift diving techniques. Visibility typically ranges from 15 to 30 meters, weather permitting. The boulder formations provide excellent photography opportunities, particularly for wide-angle shots. Stonehenge is best visited during the dry season when sea conditions are most favorable, making it a must-see destination for divers exploring the Similan Islands.
