Siyul Saghira, located near Shadwan in Qesm Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt, offers an accessible diving experience suitable for intermediate divers. This Indian Ocean site features dramatic underwater topography with coral-covered reefs descending to depths of 20-40 meters, making it ideal for recreational diving.
Divers encounter vibrant coral formations, including hard and soft corals that create stunning underwater landscapes. The site hosts diverse marine life, including reef fish, groupers, snappers, trevally, and occasional larger pelagic species. Moray eels and octopuses frequently inhabit the reef crevices.
The reef structure provides excellent visibility, typically ranging from 15-25 meters depending on conditions. Strong currents can occur, particularly during certain seasons, adding an element of challenge for intermediate-level divers. The site’s proximity to Shadwan makes it a popular choice for liveaboard and day trips from Hurghada.
