Shab Itar is a premier diving destination located in Qesm Hurghada along Egypt’s Red Sea coast. This reef system offers divers depths ranging from 5 to 40 meters, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced divers. The site features dramatic coral formations, steep drop-offs, and sandy plateaus that create a visually stunning underwater landscape.
Divers exploring Shab Itar encounter vibrant hard and soft corals, including acropora and gorgonians. The marine life is abundant, with frequent sightings of reef sharks, groupers, snappers, trevally, and schools of fusiliers. Smaller species such as butterflyfish, parrotfish, and morays inhabit the coral crevices, while lucky divers may spot eagle rays and occasionally larger pelagic species.
The site is moderately challenging, with currents varying by season and location within the reef. Navigation requires attention to depth changes and underwater topography.
