Rasfari Thila
# Rasfari Thila
Dive Conditions
Rasfari Thila is a premier diving destination in North Male Atoll, Maldives, offering an exceptional reef experience in the Indian Ocean. This submerged thila (reef pinnacle) features a vibrant coral-covered structure with stunning topography ideal for underwater exploration.
Divers encounter impressive hard coral formations, including colorful table corals and branching structures that create a dynamic landscape. The site supports abundant marine life, with frequent sightings of reef sharks, jacks, snappers, and groupers patrolling the current-swept waters. Smaller species like fusiliers, batfish, and triggerfish are also common, while eagle rays and occasionally manta rays visit seasonally.
The thila rises from deeper waters, with the top typically between 8-15 meters and dropping to 30+ meters, allowing for both shallow and deep explorations. The site suits intermediate to advanced divers due to varying water conditions and currents. Visibility generally exceeds 20 meters, though currents can be strong, requiring proper buoyancy control and drift-diving experience. Rasfari Thila remains a favorite for experiencing the Maldives’ rich pelagic activity and pristine reef ecosystems.
