Dive Conditions
Om Sid is a premier reef diving destination located in Dahab, Sinai, along Egypt’s Red Sea coast in the Gulf of Aqaba. This spectacular site features a dramatic coral-covered reef wall that descends from shallow waters to depths of 40-60 meters, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
Divers encounter a vibrant underwater landscape dominated by colorful soft and hard corals, including table corals, branching acroporas, and sea fans. The marine life is abundant, featuring groupers, jacks, snappers, and schools of fusiliers. Larger pelagic species such as sharks and rays frequently patrol the deeper sections.
The site’s main attraction is its steep wall formation, offering excellent visibility typically ranging from 15-25 meters. The reef structure provides natural swim-throughs and crevices that add exploration interest. Strong currents are common, requiring good buoyancy control and experience.
