Marsa Kharita, located in Sharm El Sheikh on Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, is a premier Red Sea diving destination offering diverse underwater experiences for all skill levels. This sheltered bay features a sloping reef system descending to approximately 40 meters, making it suitable for both beginners and intermediate divers.
The site showcases stunning coral formations, including vibrant soft corals and hard coral gardens that attract abundant marine life. Divers encounter colorful reef fish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, groupers, and napoleon wrasse. Larger pelagic species, including reef sharks, occasionally patrol the deeper sections. Nudibranchs, seahorses, and moray eels hide among the reef crevices.
The clear waters and moderate currents make Marsa Kharita an ideal training and recreational dive location. The protected bay ensures relatively calm conditions, particularly in summer months. Excellent visibility ranges from 15-30 meters depending on seasonal conditions.
