Keruo Channel, located at Groot Fam Island in Indonesia’s Raja Ampat Islands, is a thrilling drift dive through a dynamic underwater passage. Situated in the Halmahera Sea within West Papua’s pristine waters, this site offers an exciting Pacific Ocean diving experience.
Divers navigate depths ranging from 10 to 40 meters, encountering strong currents that make this site suitable for intermediate to advanced divers. The channel features dramatic rock formations and coral-covered walls that create natural highways for marine life.
Expect encounters with large pelagic species, including sharks, trevally, and barracuda, alongside vibrant coral gardens teeming with smaller reef fish. Schooling jackfish, fusiliers, and occasional rays are commonly spotted. The nutrient-rich waters support exceptional biodiversity, with healthy hard and soft corals adorning the channel walls.
