Dive Conditions
Eel Garden is a premier dive destination located in Sharm El Sheikh, nestled in the Sinai Peninsula of the Red Sea. This exceptional site features a sandy bottom interspersed with seagrass meadows, creating a unique underwater landscape that attracts abundant marine life. Divers encounter schools of garden eels, the site’s namesake, along with numerous species of rays, groupers, and colorful reef fish that thrive in the shallow waters.
The dive begins at approximately 12-18 meters depth, making it suitable for intermediate divers and above. The moderate current and accessible depth allow for extended bottom time to observe the delicate ecosystem. Visibility typically ranges from 15-25 meters, depending on seasonal conditions.
Marine biodiversity is exceptional, including lionfish, scorpionfish, seahorses, and occasionally larger pelagic species. The sandy terrain provides excellent opportunities for macro photography and observing cryptic creatures.
