Dive Conditions
Dinolhu Kandu is a premier diving destination located in Vihamaafaru, Ari Atoll, Maldives, offering excellent diving experiences in the Indian Ocean. This kandu (channel) features dramatic underwater topography with steep walls and a sandy bottom at approximately 30-40 meters depth, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
The site is renowned for strong currents that attract abundant pelagic marine life. Divers can expect encounters with reef sharks, including blacktip and whitetip varieties, as well as schools of jacks, trevally, and barracuda. The channel’s structure creates ideal conditions for spotting large fish and occasional manta rays during seasonal visits.
The coral-covered walls display vibrant hard and soft coral formations, hosting smaller reef fish and crustaceans. Visibility typically ranges from 20-40 meters, providing excellent underwater viewing conditions.
