Dive Conditions
Discover the vibrant underwater world of Dhevvamaagalaa Faru, a pristine reef located in Gaafu Dhaalu, Kaafu Atoll. This moderate-difficulty dive site features depths ranging from 12 to 40 meters, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
Divers encounter stunning coral formations, dramatic drop-offs, and thriving reef structures teeming with life. The site showcases colorful soft and hard corals creating a spectacular backdrop for exploration.
Marine life encounters include reef sharks, particularly whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, along with various ray species. Schools of fusiliers, snappers, and trevally patrol the reef edges, while smaller species like wrasses, parrotfish, and emperor fish inhabit the coral gardens. Occasional pelagic species add excitement to deeper portions of the dive.
The faru’s strong currents and depth variations require good buoyancy control and experience. Optimal diving conditions typically occur during dry season months when visibility exceeds 20 meters.
