Devana Kandu is a thrilling dive site located in Alimata, Felidhu Atoll, Vaavu Atoll, Maldives. This channel dive offers exciting encounters with pelagic species in the Indian Ocean’s crystal-clear waters.
The site features dramatic coral-covered walls and a sandy bottom at approximately 20-40 meters depth, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers. Strong currents are common, providing excellent opportunities to spot large marine life while drifting through the channel.
Divers can expect to see impressive schools of jacks, snappers, and fusiliers, while reef sharks frequently patrol the deeper sections. Encounters with manta rays and eagle rays are possible during certain seasons, particularly when plankton levels are high. Smaller reef fish, including groupers and sweetlips, inhabit the coral formations.
The channel’s nutrient-rich waters attract diverse marine species, making every dive unpredictable and exciting. Devana Kandu is best visited by experienced divers comfortable with strong currents and deep diving.
