Changgo, located off Kawe Island near Waigeo in Raja Ampat’s pristine waters, offers an exceptional diving experience in West Papua. This site features dramatic underwater topography with steep walls and rocky formations descending to depths of 25-40 meters, suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.

The site is renowned for its thriving coral gardens and vibrant reef ecosystem. Divers encounter abundant marine life including large schools of fusiliers, trevally, and barracuda, alongside reef sharks, groupers, and napoleon wrasse. The nutrient-rich waters of the Maluku region support spectacular soft coral formations and healthy hard coral coverage.

Changgo’s strong currents create dynamic drift diving opportunities, attracting pelagic species and larger marine animals. The site’s rock outcroppings and crevices provide habitat for moray eels, octopus, and nudibranchs. Clear visibility typically ranges from 15-30 meters, depending on tidal conditions.

Best suited for experienced divers comfortable with moderate to strong currents, Changgo exemplifies Raja Ampat’s world-class biodiversity and stunning geological formations.
