Bodu Giri is a premier dive site located in Laamu Atoll, Maldives, renowned for its dramatic underwater topography and abundant marine life. This pinnacle dive features a steep underwater mountain that drops from shallow waters to impressive depths, ideal for intermediate to advanced divers.
Divers encounter vibrant coral formations, including hard corals and colorful soft corals adorning the site’s structure. The site’s strong currents attract large pelagic fish, including white-tip and grey reef sharks, jacks, and trevally. Smaller reef residents such as groupers, snappers, and numerous colorful tropical fish species populate the reef crevices.
Depth ranges from approximately 5 meters at the pinnacle’s summit to beyond 40 meters at the base, accommodating various skill levels. The site is best suited for intermediate to advanced divers due to challenging currents and depth variations.
Bodu Giri offers exceptional visibility during optimal seasons, providing excellent opportunities for both macro and wide-angle photography.
