Alimatha Jetty, located in Felidhu Atoll’s Vaavu region within the Maldives, offers an accessible and captivating diving experience in the Indian Ocean. This shallow site features a distinctive jetty structure that creates an ideal environment for marine exploration.
The site accommodates divers of varying skill levels, making it suitable for beginners through intermediate divers. Typical depths range from 5 to 15 meters, allowing for extended bottom times and comfortable underwater navigation.
Divers encounter vibrant coral formations and abundant reef fish species throughout the site. The jetty’s pilings attract numerous marine creatures, including reef sharks, napoleon wrasse, tuna, and barracuda. Night dives are particularly popular here, as the area becomes alive with nocturnal species and bioluminescent displays.
The sandy bottom mixed with coral patches provides excellent visibility and photography opportunities. Strong currents are possible but manageable with proper technique.
