Abu Dabbab is a premier diving destination located in Qesm Marsa Alam along Egypt’s Red Sea coast. This shallow reef site offers depths ranging from 5 to 25 meters, making it ideal for divers of all experience levels, including beginners and snorkelers.
The site features stunning coral gardens with vibrant hard and soft corals, creating a colorful underwater landscape. Divers encounter abundant marine life including humphead parrotfish, groupers, snappers, and numerous reef fish species. Abu Dabbab is particularly renowned for its resident population of green and hawksbill sea turtles, which frequently interact with visitors in their natural habitat.
The reef structure includes sandy patches interspersed with coral formations, providing excellent visibility typically ranging from 10 to 20 meters. The gentle current and shallow depths make Abu Dabbab perfect for leisurely exploration and photography.
