Elphinstone Reef is a world-renowned dive site located off the coast of Marsa Alam in Egypt’s Red Sea. This spectacular offshore reef features dramatic granite boulders, steep walls, and a dynamic current environment that attracts experienced divers seeking thrilling encounters.

Depths range from 6 to 40+ meters, making it suitable primarily for advanced and intermediate divers. The site’s strong currents require excellent buoyancy control and experience with drift diving techniques.

Marine life encounters are exceptional, including pelagic species such as hammerhead sharks, grey reef sharks, trevally, and groupers. Divers frequently observe Napoleon wrasse, barracuda schools, and vibrant coral formations along the reef walls. The nutrient-rich waters support abundant fish populations and create ideal feeding grounds for larger predators.
