Dive Conditions
Ras El Arab is a premier diving destination located in Qesm Safaga, Red Sea Governorate, Egypt. This spectacular site features dramatic coral formations and vibrant reef ecosystems characteristic of the Red Sea.
Divers encounter pristine hard and soft corals, colorful reef fish, and abundant marine life including groupers, snappers, and fusiliers. The site is known for sightings of pelagic species such as trevally and occasionally larger predators. Napoleon wrasse and parrotfish frequently inhabit the reef structure.
Depths range from 12 to 40 meters, accommodating various experience levels. The upper sections feature shallow coral gardens ideal for beginners, while deeper areas suit advanced divers seeking more challenging terrain.
Ras El Arab presents moderate to intermediate difficulty, with manageable currents typical of Red Sea sites. Good visibility, often exceeding 20 meters, allows excellent observation of marine life and coral architecture.
This site is accessible via liveaboard or day boat from Safaga, making it a popular choice for both recreational and experienced divers exploring Egypt’s Red Sea marine biodiversity.
