Shark Reef is a premier diving destination located off the coast of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. This iconic Red Sea site features a dramatic underwater pinnacle rising from depths of 200+ meters, creating an exhilarating dive experience suitable for advanced divers.
The reef showcases stunning coral formations and vibrant marine biodiversity. Divers encounter schools of barracuda, jacks, tuna, and grouper, while the site’s namesake sharks—including reef sharks and occasional hammerheads—are frequently spotted patrolling the deeper waters. Smaller species like fusiliers, snappers, and anthias add color to the ecosystem.
Typical diving depths range from 30-60 meters on the main pinnacle, with shallower areas available for less experienced divers. Strong currents are common, making this site best suited for intermediate to advanced divers with excellent buoyancy control.
