Dive Conditions
Farus is a popular reef diving destination located in Qesm Hurghada along Egypt’s Red Sea coast. This site features vibrant coral formations and abundant marine biodiversity typical of the Red Sea ecosystem. Divers encounter healthy hard and soft corals, colorful reef fish including groupers, snappers, and fusiliers, as well as occasional larger pelagic species.
The site typically ranges from 12 to 40 meters in depth, making it suitable for both intermediate and advanced divers. The reef structure provides excellent visibility, usually between 20-40 meters, allowing for comprehensive underwater exploration.
Farus offers a moderate difficulty level with manageable currents that vary seasonally. The bottom composition of sand and rock creates diverse habitats supporting rich marine life. The site is accessible by boat from Hurghada and suitable for recreational diving certifications.
Best diving conditions occur during the calm months of April through October when weather and water conditions are optimal. Farus remains a reliable choice for experiencing authentic Red Sea reef diving with consistent opportunities to observe diverse coral species and tropical fish populations.
