Mauan is a captivating dive site located off Rinca Island in Komodo National Park, Indonesia. This site features dramatic underwater topography with steep walls, boulder formations, and sandy slopes descending to depths of 5-40 meters, suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.

The site is renowned for its exceptional marine biodiversity. Divers encounter vibrant coral gardens, schools of fusiliers, trevally, and snappers. The nutrient-rich waters of the Flores Sea attract larger pelagic species including reef sharks, manta rays, and occasionally eagle rays. Smaller creatures like nudibranchs, crustaceans, and colorful reef fish populate the coral-encrusted walls.

Strong currents are common at Mauan, particularly during peak tidal periods, making it essential for divers to have solid buoyancy control and experience with drift diving. Visibility typically ranges from 15-30 meters, depending on conditions.

Mauan offers excellent opportunities for photography and macro observation, with rich macro life inhabiting the coral structures. The combination of dramatic geology and prolific marine life makes this a must-dive destination in Komodo National Park.
