Dive Conditions
Nelivaru is a premier diving destination in Baa Atoll, Maldives, located in the Indian Ocean. This thriving reef system offers exceptional underwater experiences for divers of all levels, featuring pristine coral gardens and abundant marine biodiversity.
Divers explore depths ranging from 5 to 40 meters, with varied topography including coral bommies, steep drop-offs, and sandy slopes. The site is renowned for encounters with reef sharks, particularly blacktips and whitetips, along with eagle rays, napoleon wrasse, and colorful schools of tropical fish.
The coral formations showcase healthy hard and soft corals, creating a vibrant ecosystem. Large pelagic species frequently patrol the deeper waters, while macro subjects fascinate photographers in shallower areas.
Nelivaru suits intermediate to advanced divers, though experienced beginners can enjoy the shallower sections. Currents can be moderate to strong, requiring good buoyancy control and awareness. Visibility typically exceeds 20 meters, with the best diving conditions during the dry season.
