Futtaru Faru is a stunning thila (reef pinnacle) located in Ari Atoll, Maldives, offering an exceptional diving experience in the Indian Ocean. This site features dramatic underwater topography with steep walls and vibrant coral formations that attract diverse marine life.
Divers typically encounter schools of barracuda, trevally, and snappers, along with reef sharks patrolling the deeper sections. Manta rays are frequently spotted during the season, gliding gracefully through the channel currents. Smaller reef inhabitants include groupers, fusiliers, and colorful reef fish.
Futtaru Faru reaches depths of 40+ meters, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers. The site is characterized by strong currents, which bring nutrient-rich waters that support exceptional biodiversity. The reef’s steep walls and overhangs create dynamic diving conditions requiring proper buoyancy control and experience.
