Dive Conditions
Huddu Thila is a premier thila (reef pinnacle) dive site located in Ari Atoll, Maldives, offering exceptional underwater experiences in the Indian Ocean. This site features a dramatic coral-covered structure rising from significant depths, creating a dynamic diving environment suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
Divers encounter pristine hard and soft corals adorning the thila’s slopes, with visibility typically ranging from 15-30 meters. The site descends to approximately 40+ meters at its base, requiring proper depth management and experience with deeper diving.
Marine life encounters are abundant and diverse. Expect large pelagic species including reef sharks, groupers, and trevally patrolling the pinnacle, while smaller reef fish species create vibrant coral gardens. Occasional manta rays and eagle rays gracefully glide through the blue water surrounding the thila.
The currents at Huddu Thila can be moderate to strong, making drift diving common. Early morning dives typically offer the best conditions and highest probability of encountering larger marine species. This site represents classic Maldivian thila diving at its finest.
