Kuda Thila is a premier thila (reef pinnacle) dive site located in Gaafu Alif Atoll within the Maldives’ southernmost atolls. This moderate dive site features a scenic underwater formation rising from depths of 30-40 meters, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.

The thila is renowned for its pristine coral gardens and abundant marine biodiversity. Divers encounter vibrant soft and hard corals covering the pinnacle, alongside schools of jacks, fusiliers, and snappers. The site frequently hosts pelagic species, including reef sharks, tuna, and occasionally larger species like groupers and napoleonfish.

The reef walls display excellent visibility, typically ranging from 20-40 meters, creating ideal conditions for underwater photography. Macro life enthusiasts discover nudibranchs, crustaceans, and reef fish among the coral formations.

Kuda Thila’s combination of accessible depth ranges, dramatic topography, and diverse marine life makes it a popular destination for divers exploring the relatively less-visited southern Maldives. Strong currents are possible, requiring proper buoyancy control and experience with drift diving techniques.
