Dive Conditions
Angas Thilas is a premier diving destination in Baa Atoll, Maldives, renowned for its thriving coral gardens and abundant marine life. Located in the Indian Ocean, this submerged thila (reef pinnacle) offers an exceptional underwater experience suitable for intermediate to advanced divers.
The site features stunning hard and soft coral formations that attract diverse pelagic species. Divers commonly encounter reef sharks, tuna, barracuda, and schools of jacks in the current-swept channels. The thila’s protected areas showcase vibrant coral polyps and smaller reef fish including groupers, snappers, and fusiliers.
Depths range from approximately 5 to 40 meters, allowing both recreational diving and deeper exploration. The site experiences moderate to strong currents, requiring good buoyancy control and experience in drift diving. Visibility typically exceeds 20 meters, providing excellent photo opportunities.
